We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions about maintenance.
__________
Maintenance is, after all, simply a process to make something last as long as possible.
It doesn't mean that if you skip maintenance entirely, it will break down immediately.
It will last a long time even without maintenance, so there's no need to do it if it's too much trouble.
Please consider maintenance as a way to extend its lifespan even further.
----------
First, please dust off the product.
We recommend brushing it, but wiping it with a clean cloth is also fine.
There are various oil care products for leather, but for any of them, apply the oil thinly without using too much.
When applying, please use a clean cloth.
We also recommend applying it by hand, as you can easily feel the dry areas. (For liquid oils, please use a cloth.)
----------
As a guide, we recommend replenishing the oil once every two months.
In the meantime, if you feel the leather is dry, you may replenish the oil as needed.
__________
Colorless products are fine.
For now, it's safest to test in an inconspicuous area.
In the case of mink oil, be careful not to apply too much, as over-application can cause the leather to lose its firmness.
__________
As explained above, maintenance is not always essential.
However, because bags are used outdoors, the leather tends to dry out. To ensure they last longer, it's best to perform oil maintenance.
__________
If left for extended periods in humid places such as closets, mold may form.
Once mold forms, it is almost impossible to remove. While mold is unlikely to form with normal use, please be careful about storage locations for long-term storage.
Wiping dust and dirt from the product before storing it can also help prevent mold growth.
Additionally, if left in direct sunlight for a long period, the color may fade.
It is best to store the item in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
__________
It's also good for leather to brush or wipe away surface dust and dirt.
Leather breathes too. It will appreciate being stroked, even if only when you remember to do so.
However, stroking it too much can cause the color to fade, so please show it affection in moderation.
